I posted this for Steve K9DCI. N6XFC
I subscribe to Yahoo RDF-USA and saw AG4WH, Gordon's post about the GeoHunts. Nice idea.
I created an Excel spreadsheet which takes up to 5 locations and associated bearings, then calculates the coordinates of the fox. This is a weighted average of the intersections of the lines of bearing. Each bearing also has a quality factor - the more confident you are that is it good, the more it is weighted in the calculation. It also has a map. Though it's for my county, you can change the coordinates to your liking and add your own landmarks - I have mostly towns. It may be crude, but anyone with reasonable Excel ability can fix it. You are welcome to it, just give me credit.
