GeoTran visited the ARDF meet at Bonelli park today. He was a great success and enjoyed watching the hunters running about after his brothers.

The GeoTran will be off the air on Saturday, Feb 7th as it might interfere with the ARDF activities (see www,homingin.com). It will return Monday Feb 9th at a new location for your hunting pleasure.

My son and I spent about 4 hours last weekend to find it. Got close bbut no cigar. Find that I need to get my attenuator set up better for finding it this weekend. All my cables are 5 years old. Getting back into the hobby.

I went by on Sat and it was geoting away. I have decided to leave it on at this location until 2/7 weh I will move it to be displayed at the ARDF activitiy in Bonnelli Park and then on to a new location. Check with www.homingin.com for more info on the ARDF stuff.

Just a heads up that K0OV will be hosting another foot hunt at Bonelli in early Feb. Hope new location isn't a problem for him.

On Saturday, I replaced the antenna with a better built one that will not swivel and will withstand the SoCal winters. I also replaced the 2AH battery (It had run for a full week with little helpo from the swiveling solar panel) with the normal 3 AH unit. I will let it go for at least another week or maybe two befor I move it from the GeoHunt II position.
Steve, N6XFC, had redone the construction page to reflect the more better unit should you want to build your own. Many thanks to Steve for this web site and his support of this project.
