I found that the antenna had swiveled around and the solar panel had also swung around it's mount and it was now pointed near the north star. Not too bright. I changed the battery to a 2AH one that should last a couple days. I have built a new antenna/solar mount and it will not swivel. Chubby Checker will be dismayed. I will swap it out in a few days (like Wednesday)

Drove by the T at about 11:30 and all seemed in order. Connections were sound, but no signal. The solar panel was aimed south-east and low: did not seem to be pointing toward the sun's path.

I visited it today and found it tilted at about 30 degrees off vertical. I installed some rebar the cure the ED and it seemed to be OK. I measured the battery voltage at 7.4 V which is about 1/2 charge. This is good as it has been raining and cloudy for the last week. The sun was bright, so I left the 1/2 charged battery in. It was charging...

Hey BB it looks like you are way ahead of the curve on learning. I found pix of you and your friend on K0OV's site: http://www.homingin.com/joemoell/ardfinla.html
I will be at the Feb 7 event over at Bonelli Park so I can build some newer tape yagi's for myself plus those offset attenuators.
You missed out on the monthly 3rd Sat hunt. It ended up over in the hills of Covina. It's built for beginners.

Found it at 17:37. Since I'm new to ARDF this took a while. About 5.5 hours. Spent some time earlier with YGD and got real close. Came back later to finish the job. Thanks for all of the fun. It was a beautiful day for a geohunt!

Without giving too much away you CAN hear it in these places: Diamond Bar, Grand/Summitridge Pomona, Temple/57 San Dimas, Top of San Dimas Ave south of Via Verde Walnut, S/E side of Forest Lawn by the microwave tower(Great place for bearings, but only open during daylight)
I hunted with my Ramsey Doppler and 3 element tape yagi. Got out of the car probably 15 times to grab bearings.
Good luck.

I can tell whom ever is looking for it, that you cannot hear it from Glendora Mountain Road and you cannot hear it at the 57 and via Verde in front of Bonelli. But you can here it from the backside of Forest Lawn in Covina.
